Rayvensoft was founded with the idea that it is possible to make the world a better place but also make a living for yourself and your family while doing it. We want to show that through social entrepreneurship and education it is not only possible to change the lives of people for the better but also open minds.
Ray Blakney is a social startup entrepreneur. He was born in Cebu City in the Philippines to a Filipino mother and U.S. father. At 11 months old he to Istanbul, Turkey where he spent the next 15 years. At 16 he moved to the U.S. to finish high school and get his university degree in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He spent over a decade working as a software developer and team lead in Fortune 500 companies and internet startups in Silicon Valley before deciding to take some time off to volunteer and give back to society.
In 2006 he joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a techonology exchange specialist and got sent to Mexico where he spent two years working to improve the technology systems in a center of CONACYT in southern Mexico. In 2008 he finished his contract and started his first business which was a brick and mortal language school in Querétaro, Mexico. In 2012 after having built up the school up into one of the top schools in the country with multiple branches in different cities he sold it to focus on his online ventures, some of which had been started during those years.

Ray is constantly on the lookout for social entrepreneurship projects that he can assist in. His primary interest is working on project is developing countries in Latin America and the South Pacific.
